Easter Activities
Easter is the most important event in the Christian calendar - yes, more important than Christmas! Christmas is Jesus's birthday, but Easter is when he died … and then came back to life! It is celebrated in April. The date changes every year and depends on the full moon. It can be any time between March 22nd and April 25th. Easter means four days off school. Friday and Monday are holidays.
The meaning behind Easter is Jesus. Jesus died on "Good Friday" and came back to life on "Easter Sunday."
Christians go to church. Other people give each other chocolate eggs and have parties. Traditionally, eggs are brought by the Easter Bunny. The Easter bunny is a rabbit. He first appeared in Germany in 1682. These days, most chocolate companies make chocolate eggs. Sometimes we make our own, too.
Christmas Activities
Christmas was in full swing as students excitedly gathered to solve festive riddles. After successfully answering 5 riddles, they also tried to create a whimsical snowman, carefully drawing and painting its features according to the instructions on the paper. Beaming with pride, students returned their 'Five riddle answers post cards’ and were thrilled to receive prizes from their English teachers.
Halloween Activities
How is Halloween celebrated at your school? It has been a tradition at KSKC to celebrate Halloween with a variety of English activities from trick or treating to apple bobbing with English teachers. This year, some students even dressed up in their own costumes and wandered around the campus while trick or treating. Apple bobbing was the highlight of our Halloween activities this year. Students had to compete with each other to grab as many apples as possible from the water to be the winners of the game.
