The Making a Difference Project |
This project is aimed at our dyslexic students. Through intensive initial testing gaps in their learning are identified. The students see the teacher every day for one term and work on a programme that is specially tailored to meet their needs. Using a variety of multi-sensory teaching strategies the students learn the most common English phonic sounds, build up their sight word vocabulary, practice their reading and work on their spelling strategies. The aim is to equip the students with a range of strategies to allow them to participate more in the English language classroom and continue to progress when returned to the mainstream classroom.
