The learning environment is important in arousing students’ interest in learning and using English. The English Corner is aimed at encouraging students to interact with teachers in English. This is stocked with interesting and stimulating games which provide a suitable environment to boost motivations and interest in using and learning English in an informal manner. Equipping with a DVD player, a television, a computer and various kinds of reading books, the corner provides a number of opportunities for students to keep contact with English. For starters, there are lots and lots of board games, such as ‘scrabble’ and ‘upward’. There are also colorful Disney comic books which students can read in the room or borrow home.
