Our achievement goals and outcome measures

As a result of a school wide cross language literacy strategy, we hope that all participating students should be able to achieve the following goals

1. Exposure to reading Chinese and English Texts. :- This can be measured against the number of texts explored through the programme. This should include multi-media texts. Level 1

2. Generic knowledge :- All students should be able to identify the key text types in English as well as Chinese. This will be measured through a quick test at the end of the programme. Level 2

3. Information seeking :- Students will increase their active skills as information seekers as opposed to information consumers. Level 3

4. Critical Language Awarness :- All students will develop an understanding that texts have a purpose. ie to sell, to inform, to entertain. This will be measured through the use of a pre and post test. Level 4
